Summary
As a Fellow or Strategist at cFactual, you will drive impactful client projects focused on AI safety, effective altruism (EA) meta, or other cause areas aligned with your experience. You will execute high-quality work independently, support organizations in prioritization and effectiveness, and contribute to cFactual's growth and strategic direction. Successful candidates will have relevant experience in AI safety, EA meta, or other EA cause areas, as well as a commitment to impact maximization. We are excited to hire people to join us permanently (as a Strategist) or as a Fellow participating in our 3–6 month fellowship program. Fellows will spend 70-90% of their time doing value-adding client or cFactual work, while the rest of their time is reserved for upskilling and career exploration (e.g., one-on-one coaching sessions, goal-setting exercises, introductions to experts in the field, and self-directed learning through recommended EA resources and literature). The aim of the fellowship is to help you land your next impactful role, whether that be continuing at cFactual as a Strategist or joining another organization. You can find more information about the fellowship here.

- AI safety: e.g., scoping and helping set up a new AI safety foundation or a new AI safety research organization
- EA meta: e.g., helping define an outreach strategy for EA or setting up the board of a think tank
- Others: e.g., generalists or experts in other cause areas, such as biosecurity and family office philanthropy. We will only work on Global Health & Development and Farmed Animal Welfare opportunistically in the next year
Additionally, we are looking for candidates with functional expertise in our service areas, especially in impact measurement, risk management, and strategy development for start-ups.
